WoW: Forever Opens Name Reservations With Classic Errors
Blizzard has launched early name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever ahead of its November 4 release. Pre-order customers can lock in up to three character names, but classic server disconnects and realm list bugs greeted early birds.
Strict Three-Name Cap Across All Realms
Blizzard is capping reservations at three characters per account to prevent hoarding before the official release.
The race for classic character handles is officially underway. Players jumping into the Battle.net client can download the World of Warcraft: Forever pre-release client and secure their preferred aliases through November 3.
Getting in early comes with a catch: it is strictly locked behind premium pre-orders. You must own the Heroic Pack, the Epic Pack, or a Collector's Edition. Standard active subscriptions will not grant access to the reserve phase.
Blizzard also enforced a hard account-wide limit. You get three character slots total, regardless of realm type. Creating two characters on a PvP realm leaves you with just one slot for a Normal or RP realm. As expected on a first-come, first-served basis, iconic lore handles and clean two-letter aliases vanished within seconds.

Oceania Realm Glitches and Error wow51900102
Opening the floodgates quickly led to familiar headaches. Blizzard CS had to post troubleshooting advisories on social media after Oceania region players ran into an unusual server list bug: creating a character on a Normal or PvP realm caused RP and RP-PvP options to disappear from the selection menu entirely.
Support advised that anyone intending to roll an RP character should create that avatar first, or toggle between realm tabs repeatedly to force an interface refresh.
Technical friction did not stop there. The notorious wow51900102 disconnect error struck players queuing up to confirm their selections, mirroring the kind of traffic bottlenecks seen during a Steam outage. Because this client exists solely to hold text strings on a database, players were quick to voice frustration over dropped sessions.
Blizzard running into disconnection codes on a client that does nothing but save names into a database does not inspire confidence for November 4. If there is a specific tag you cannot play without, take Blizzard's advice: choose your intended realm type on your very first try and avoid clicking back and forth through menus.
Availability and pricing
The reservation window is open simultaneously across North America, Europe, and Oceania Battle.net realms. Players in the US, UK, and EU need an active pre-order of the Heroic Edition ($69.99 / £49.99 / €69.99) or higher to access the reservation window before launch.
