The series pulls inspiration directly from Bethesda's bunker-management mobile spinoff, locking everyday contestants into a life-sized, blast-proof vault.

Amazon describes the format as a mix of intense survival drills, psychological dilemmas, and morally dubious behavioral tests designed to mirror Vault-Tec's fictional experiments. Rather than fighting feral ghouls, participants will eliminate one another until a single survivor walks away with $1 million.

The move mirrors recent unscripted adaptations like Netflix's Squid Game: The Challenge, capitalizing on audience appetite for high-stakes genre games while fans wait between prestige television seasons. The timing lines up squarely with the franchise's 30th anniversary year, marking three decades since the original 1997 RPG hit computers.
